Hands-On Learning Around the World

Synopsys is made up of leading technologists who enable the advanced electronic devices of the future, and in our charitable efforts, we empower our thought leaders to inspire and foster the world’s next generation of technologists. We sponsor science fairs, contribute to primary and secondary science and education programs. This is driven by our incredible passion and dedication of our employees to enrich the lives of others in the fields they know best.

Synopsys Outreach Foundation
Founded in 1999, the Synopsys Outreach Foundation promotes project-based learning among K-12 teachers and students in California and near select Synopsys offices. The Outreach Foundation offers a program of teacher grants and training, grants to schools for materials and equipment, administrative support, project supplies, and incentives for teachers and students who are developing science projects for competition. The Outreach Foundation is the major sponsor of the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship, sciencepalooza!, science-o-rama! and science fair programs.

The Synopsys Outreach Foundation is our signature program and the centerpiece of our donations at Corporate Headquarters in Silicon Valley. The program is also active at the Hillsboro School District in Hillsboro, Oregon and at Kane Elementary School in Marlboro, Massachusetts. Annually, 115,000 students and teachers participate in the science fair program.

Regional Science Fairs – North America
Many Synopsys offices participate in their regional science fairs where students compete for prizes and the honor of advancing to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Synopsys is proud to provide these regional fairs with a donation toward their travel funds that enable students and teachers to attend the annual international science fair. Employees also provide the valuable resource of their time and talents to be judges at the regional fairs.

Science and Math Education - Asia
Synopsys employees lead many science and math programs that support slum and rural students to ensure these children have an opportunity to compete in a global world. Synopsys leads programs in Bangalore and Hyderabad, India; Taipei, Taiwan; and Shanghai, China. Employees bring science demonstrations to local schools, such as the Government High School in Rasoolpura, Hyderabad supporting slum children. Synopsys funds rural science vans through the Agastya Foundation, and Synopsys launched a science center at the Parikrma school for slum children. We partner with the National Taiwan Science Education Center. In addition, we have built the Synopsys Yongming Primary School in China and provide scholarships for students to attend school.
